June 14, 2018 MATTHEW CHAPTER 26
This prayer of surrender in the garden teaches us so much. Prayer is about letting go of control and letting God have His way in and through us. There has never been a greater act of surrender than Jesus' obedience to the Father's will in taking our sin upon Himself to the cross. Only because He obeyed the Father there and then we able to have access in prayer here and now.
Are you enjoying the access granted to you by Jesus obedience?

I really love verse 50, where Jesus says to Judas, "Do what you came for, friend." Jesus knew what Judas had come for, He knew what he was doing. He knew that Judas had betrayed Him. And yet, even though Judas had thrown away the gift of love that Jesus gave, Jesus calls Judas FRIEND!! Jesus could have yelled at Judas or called him enemy. But Jesus does not close His open arms, even when we do! He is so forgiving and loving even when we turn away! Even when we think we've got a better idea, He will never stop loving us! Nothing we do could make Him love us more or less than He does right now!
