July 3, 2018 LUKE CHAPTER 1

 Mary heard the astonishing news, and she surrendered to God's will.  She calls herself the Lord's servant. This is a great example to all of us.  When the Lord speaks we need to obey, even if His Word to us doesn't make sense at first.  We are in for an amazing blessing when we believe God's promises and step out in obedience.

    I think it's really cool the way God works in ways that no one expects. Everyone was waiting for a Savior, but they were picturing a king who defeated all of their enemies. But that's not who Jesus was. He came to defeat the enemy we couldn't see inside of us! And He didn't come with an army. He came with love! He came to change the world in a way that no one expected at all! He came to serve and show us who He was and how we should live! It's also really amazing the people that God chooses to use. He doesn't choose the ones that are in high positions, or are respected by everyone. He chooses those who have open hearts, those who are willing.
