The women who came to the tomb were the first ones given the commision to share the amazing news of the resurrection. What caught my attention this morning was the word "and". Go, tell His disiplecs "and" Peter. There is a lot of grace in the word "and". Peter, just days before, had totally denied any connection with Jesus. Here the angels are intentionally connecting the good news with Peter. He is singled out as one who needed to be told, "The story issn't over." Peter's failure wasn't final and neither is yours and mine! The resurrection says, "There is always hope for a new start!" Praise God that we are all included as receipients and messengers of the truth, "He is Risen!"
He is risen! Jesus left the grave behind Him so that we can too! Without Jesus, we are living death. Life apart from Jesus is not life at all! But that's why He died! He died to redeem us and call us His own and save us from death's threat in our lives and give us the promise of life! Life with Him! Life free from worry and stress and pain and suffering and fear and tears! If Jesus hadn't died, we would still be living in the grave. But praise God that we aren't! We are saved, redeemed, loved, treasured by the King and Creator who made the heavens and the earth! He is like no other! And because of the righteousness offered to us through Jesus, we can boldly enter the presence of God! We don't have to sacrifice animals anymore! Jesus paid our debt, and now through His blood, we are forgiven! Isn't His love amazing?!
