June 7, 2018 MATTHEW CHAPTER 20
The disciples thought they were running a campaign and that they would have an inside track to power and authority. King Jesus redirected their attention to the source of true influence and transformation. Leading by example, He shows that true greatness comes from sacrificial service.
An authentic leader doesn't seek people to lift themselves up. Influence "Jesus Style" is upside down! Jesus came to lay His life down to serve and ransom us.
A clear indication that we understand our need for His ransom of our lives is found in our humble service to others. This will lead people around us to find and follow Jesus the ultimate leader and King of the Universe.
Does your life point others to Jesus?

In verse 28, Jesus says, "Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." Jesus could have come as a king, showing to everyone His power and authority. He had every right to. But that's not what He did. Jesus came in humility, and He didn't come so that He could live a life where everyone served Him. He did the opposite. He went out of His way, every day, to serve others and strengthen their faith. He went to the broken, the list, the hurting, the falling, and He lifted them up. And He calls us to do the same, to live our lives for Him by living to serve others! He has trusted us with the light, and He has asked us to share it. Are we doing that?
ReplyDeleteAmen! It is a joy and privilege to follow a King like the one you described above!
