Small is big in the Kingdom way of measuring. You may feel that the little things you do, the things no one even notices, aren't making a difference. Be faithful because God will bear fruit for His glory through every act of selfless love that is prompted by His Spirit. Big impressive things have a way of coming from and feeding our pride. Anything down in pride won't stand the test of time. Only what's done for Christ will last. Keep going! Keep loving! Keep serving! He is working in and through you in such big ways through the small things that only the other side of eternity can measure the impact! Who do you know that needs this encouragement today! Small is Big, Slow is fast, and Multiplication wins!
In verse 21, Jesus points out that you don't hide the light of a lamp. The light that He brought to the world should not be kept to ourselves, but shared with everyone in our lives! It makes me really sad that so many people don't have that light in their life, and they're living in darkness. So many people don't have a Christian background or anyone in their life who shows them the love of Christ! It breaks my heart to think of people who don't have real hope, who don't know the truth, who haven't ever seen the light! That's what Jesus sent us out into the world for... To reach others! To make His family bigger! God loves each and every one of His children, and He doesn't want them to live in darkness! So He sent us who know the truth! He is sending us to the broken and the lost! But are we willing to go?
