A JOURNEY TOGETHER WITH JESUS!
Let's not a take a vacation from Jesus this summer! Instead, why don't we experience Him together in His Word? I invite you, not just to the "One Another Gatherings", but to a daily journey with Jesus in the gospels. Would you commit to reading and discussing a chapter of the gospels with your friends? Starting tomorrow (May 19th) let's begin in Matthew 1. We will go through all the gospels by the time school starts in the fall.
Along the way, I would love to hear what you are hearing from King Jesus. Grab a notebook for this summer's journey and journal as you read. Remember what we learned in Bible class how to use the acronym H.E.A.R. (Highlight, Explain, Apply, Respond).
As you seek to be led by God's Spirit to Shema (Listen and obey), remember our S.P.E.C.K. acronym as well: Did you see, S.in you need to confess? P.romises you can believe? E.nouragemnt you can give? C.ommands you are called to obey? K.nowledge you need to chew on more to understand?
Did you see Kavanah (1. Prayerfulness 2. Studying Scripture to know God 3. Extravagantly loved to love others 4. All of life as worship) at work in the life of Jesus and His friends? Where? How?
Dig in and feast on the goodness and greatness of King Jesus. Share what you are learning. Simply write a sentence or two in the comment section below each day's post. Let's help each other find and follow Jesus in His Word this summer.
